DPI / PPI calculator
This calculator works out DPI (dots per inch) or PPI (pixels per inch) from an image’s pixels and its physical size, and tells you whether the resolution is good to print.
How it’s calculated
DPI = pixels / inches
If you give the size in centimetres, it’s converted to inches (1 in = 2.54 cm). For example, 1800 px over 6 in → 300 DPI, photo quality.
Print quality
- ≥300 DPI: excellent, professional photo.
- 150-299 DPI: good for most prints.
- <150 DPI: low, looks pixelated up close.
